Law and Order

Foxton has about 35 police officers (known as the Draconians), including one captain, two lieutenants, five sergeants, and a couple of support staff. The Draconians are employed by the nation of Demoria rather than the province of Foxton, but they have traditionally had a good working relationship with the baron. Their job is to enforce the laws of the King, and to maintain order in the city and its surrounding villages. All Demorian police officers are well-trained professionals (although, as with anywhere, sometimes a bad apple can slip through). They follow a strict code of honor which dictates how and when they can make arrests as well as the treatment of prisoners.

In addition to the Draconians, the Baron has a personal guard of a dozen men, including one captain of the guard. They are tasked primarily with defending Gray Haven and the Baron himself, and with enforcing any of the baron’s own laws (such as the taking of trees from the forest), but they are frequently called to assist the Draconians when their skills and/or manpower are needed. They tend to get along well with the Draconians, and most common folk don’t really see much difference between one group and the other.
