The Chronicles of Foxton
Foxton is ruled by a Baron, who holds these lands in the name of the King of Demoria. The current Baron, Matthieu of Foxton, is a friendly fellow who rules with a light hand. He appears to be in his mid to late 30s, although he is actually much older. It is said that he has Godstouched blood, and is a distant cousin of the King. He lives in a small castle (called Gray Haven, after the gray granite from which it was built) just outside of the town, though he is not often found there – he likes to visit the town and the rest of his lands frequently.
In his youth, Matthieu was quite the explorer, and rumor has it that he traveled much of the known world, from Kalon to Kidbod and even beyond. His study is filled with trophies and strange artifacts from parts unknown, so it’s likely that these rumors are not entirely false. He is fairly new at the job. His father only recently passed away, and he returned to the province to take over the reins.
The Baron is considered a good ruler, although many people are concerned at his seeming impiety. He is rarely seen at church and seems to have a rather cavalier attitude towards faith. Some people blame his many years spent abroad among the heathens, but few people will publically speak against him.
